The Khumbu's trekking industry runs on the Sherpa guides and porters who've built the skills and reputation the region is known for.
A guiding tradition, not a job title
"Sherpa" names an ethnic group indigenous to the Khumbu and Solukhumbu and should not be used as a generic synonym for guide. Ask for each trip leader's name, home district and current credentials.
Individual profiles, done properly
We'd like this page to eventually include real profiles of our own guiding team, written with their input and consent rather than generic bios. That's a project for once the team is ready to be featured individually, not something to fill in with placeholder names now.
