From Our Founder

Are we really experiencing the places we travel to?

I spent six to seven years living in Pokhara, a city where people from around the world arrive with a backpack, a limited number of days, and a destination in mind. Mardi. Annapurna. Everest. Everyone is moving, everyone has somewhere to reach — and somewhere along that journey, I started asking myself a simple question: are we really experiencing the places we travel to?

We walk for days to reach a mountain. We take a photograph. We check the box. We say, “I did it,” then turn around and come back. But what if we stopped rushing? What if, instead of spending one day somewhere just because our itinerary says so, we stayed for five — sat in a small mountain village and listened to the stories of the people who have lived there all their lives, shared tea with a family, walked without knowing exactly where the trail would take us, watched the sunrise without looking at the clock? Maybe then we would understand what travel really means.

Because I don't believe a trek is a race to a destination. Everest Base Camp should not simply be a place you reach — it should be a place you feel. There is a difference between seeing a place and experiencing it, between walking through a village and knowing its people, between photographing a mountain and sitting beneath it long enough for it to become a memory. There is a difference between saying “I have been to Everest” and being able to say “I truly experienced Everest.” That is the idea behind Trek Everest Nepal.

About

About & Contact

TrekEverestNepal is a Kathmandu-based trekking outfitter run by mountain guides, not a booking platform reselling itineraries.

Why we exist

Too much trekking marketing hides the practical details a traveler needs to compare. We want the route, pace, price assumptions, safety questions and cancellation terms to be visible before an enquiry. Ask us for the assigned operator and guide details for your departure.

Small groups and acclimatization-first itineraries are planning priorities. The final written quote should state what is included, what is excluded, and which assumptions can change.

Our Vision

A Khumbu where trekking tourism keeps funding the region's infrastructure and communities the way it always has — without the industry losing sight of the mountains and people it depends on. Trekking tourism has funded schools, clinics and trail infrastructure across the Khumbu for decades; our vision is to keep operating inside that relationship as we grow, not to treat the mountains, guides or villages along the trail as a resource to extract from.

Our Mission

To make Everest-region planning clearer: acclimatization time is shown rather than hidden, price assumptions are stated, and travelers are encouraged to verify the assigned guide, insurance, emergency plan, permits and cancellation terms before paying.

The people behind your trek

These are the people behind the company. Ask for the assigned guide's current licence, insurance, first-aid training, and emergency communications plan before departure; this page does not substitute for credential verification.
