Green Everest

Our Purpose

We're a Nepali company operating in Nepali mountains, guided by Nepali staff. What we do off the trail matters as much to us as what happens on it.

Why this page exists

A trekking company that operates in the Khumbu depends on the communities and the environment along its routes — teahouse owners, porters, guides, the villages themselves. That relationship works both ways: we owe something back to the places our business depends on, not just a fee paid for lodging and permits.

What that means in practice

It shapes concrete decisions: who we hire and how they're paid (see Community), how we handle the parts of running a trekking business that can leave a mark on the trail (see Giving Back), and the environmental commitment described on our Green Everest pages. None of it is separate from running treks — it's the same business, run with that responsibility in mind.
